This site is basically about two things I really enjoy that I think others enjoy, too — eating well … and having fun with anything technology-related.
It’s taken me a while, and believe me I’ve eaten and been to so many places all over that I don’t even know where to begin. Hence, you will probably notice that my dining posts are much less than my gadget posts. There are several reasons for that. First off, I don’t usually make it a habit to take pictures of the food I eat … honestly, I’ve eaten a bunch of stuff that don’t taste half as good as they look! … Alternatively, I’ve eaten another bunch of stuff that frankly did not excite me, but tasted oh sooo yummy! So, while a picture says a thousand words, it’s only in the tasting that you really know. Another thing is I am a sucker for good service! In this case, I didn’t think it would be right to write about something from an experience that is dated.
I’m currently in the Philippines, so many of the posts you’ll see (for a while, at least) shall be of places I go out around here … Makati, Malate, San Juan, Boracay, etc. I’ll try to catch up so that I get most of the restaurants posted.
Oh, a note on my posts, I HOPE that I stay consistent with my goal of posting only positive reviews of restaurants … MEANING, I do not plan on slamming bad restos! I intend to post only the ones I like! Why is that, you may ask. Well, coming from the hospitality industry (I started this as the head of the company that owns and operates a resort), I know what it’s like to have a bad day. And hey, give the guys a break, yeah? If it’s been a bad day, the last thing I need is for an already irate guest to slam me on the internet and make it so much more difficult to recover from what could have been a one-off mistake. You can’t make everyone happy … remember that.
‘Nuf said on that!
On to the tech part… I’ve always been interested in this. At first, I thought I’d want to be a Computer Engineer, but I couldn’t imagine spending my day in front of the stuff. So, I switched majors in college and decided to take finance. I started off as an Investment Banker, but soon realized that I couldn’t shake off this bug. What I did learn is that I really enjoy technology and how useful it is and the changes it can contribute to how we do things.
So, in this blog you can expect to see some fun (games) stuff … but, you can also expect to see some other things, like utilities and sites that I’ve visited that I think may be of interest to you.
Technology is a double-edged sword, as many of you already know. Sometimes, it can make things very easy … much simpler than the traditional way … like working with data, automating and organizing tasks, etc. But, just like anything else in this world, everything must have it’s place … and technology can also speed things up to a frenzy that, well, may not be too healthy.
So, in the end, as more intelligent beings than our ancestors (perhaps!) we have a greater task of balancing it all. Balance is most important.
And, that’s why I decided to put both the tech and the food together! Both fill, but in different ways.
Enjoy!
